CHARACTERISTICS of the Chow Chow |
The call of the Chow Chow is to be a company and guardian dog. In order to dissuade the intruder, its middle size is compensated with its volume and, even if it doesn't bark, they are not any less significant their messages of alert. |
ADVICE 649 |
Its love for independence is very strong. It is generally very calm, but this doesn't mean this dog doesn't have very quick reactions, and its reflexes can be very fast when necessary. |
ADVICE 650 |
The Chow is not made for owners that demand very expressive affection, or for the ones who want to fulfill a maniac necessity of power, it is not recommended for someone with no character either. |
Its kind appearance has nothing to do with its character, this dog thinks before obeying. |
ADVICE 651 |
You can not be tough with this dog, which doesn't mean that you should have a permissive attitude in front of its natural rebelliousness; on the contrary, you will have to train it from 3 months of age or even earlier. |
ADVICE 652 |
The Chow will never serve you, it will take some time to give itself but the giving will be total, up to the point that it will be difficult for the dog to get away from its master. |
ADVICE 653 |
Living with a Chow for ten years is an unforgettable experience and only few of the Chow owners change breeds. |
