Great load dog and water, with a rescuing instinct and unselfish partner. With an exceptionally sweet and docile character.

HEAD: |
The head is wide and massive; the occipital protuberance is well developed; not very visible stop; the snout is short, clearly marked and fairly square, covered with short fine hair. |
EYES: |
Small, dark brown, fairly deep set, without visible conjunctives; well separate. |
EARS: |
They're small, inserted backwards, aplomb on the skull, placed against the head and covered with short hair without locks. |
MOUTH: |
It has a soft mouth; the teeth are well covered by the lips; the scissor like a articulation is preferred; meaning, the upper incisors cover the lower ones with a very slight contact and are placed at a right angle with the jaw; however, tong incisors are accepted. |
NECK: |
Strong, well implanted on the shoulders. |
BODY: |
Developed ribs; wide back with a straight upper line; strong and muscular. |
CHEST: |
Well descending and fairly wide. |
FRONT EXTREMITIES: |
Straight front legs, well muscled; the elbows adapt well to the body and are fairly low. |
BACK EXTREMITIES: |
Well built and strong. Cow like hocks. Spurs must be removed. |
FEET: |
They're large, and very well formed. They shouldn't flattened or crooked. |
TAIL: |
Moderate length, slightly passing the hock, of good thickness, well covered with hair, but not forming a flag (without fallen locks). When the dog stands, it forms a small curl at the extremity. When in movement it carries slightly lifted. When the dog is excited, it carries it straight with only a slight curb at the tip. The curved or curled tail over the back isn't tolerated. |
HAIR: |
Double, flat and thick, with a rough texture, naturally oily, waterproof. Brushed against the hair, the hair goes back to its position naturally. The front has a good amount of hair. The whole body is well covered with hair but it doesn't for a bulge on the chest, The buttocks has small bangs. |

The only colors that are accepted are the following: |
Black |
Jet matt black that can have a bronze shade; white splotches on the chest, toes and the tip of the tail are accepted. |
Brown |
It can be chocolate or bronze; besides the color, brown dogs are identical to the black ones, white splotches on the chest, toes and the tip of the tail are accepted. |
Landseer |
Only black and white is accepted; a black head is preferred with a white lock and the coat is spread about with black hindquarters reaching the tail; the clarity of the spots must be paid attention to, splotches are a defect. |
MOVEMENT: |
Loose movement with a slight balance. When in action the front fingers are slightly inwards, which is accepted. |
SIZE: |
Cross height 71 cm is the male average and for females 66 cm. |
The average weight is 64 to 69 kg for males and 50 to 54 kg for females. |
